Asus launched M70 in India

The notebook and motherboard manufacturing company has announced its new laptop M70 in India. The great new feature for the M70 is the 1TB harddrive that this laptop will support.

Although there is still no launch date which has been fixed yet for this product, but we expect to see this soon in stores. The Asus M70 comes with a 17inch widescreen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

In addition to these, the laptop has a 1.3 megapixel built-in swivel web camera, Altec lansing speakers and home theatre system.

The processors in which this model will be available are the latest Core 2 Duo ones from Intel. Right from the T7500 to the T9300 chipset.

There is also a 256 MB graphics card from ATI (Radeon HD3650). Upto 4GB of RAM is supported on this.

Lenovo Launched IdeaPad U110

The IdeaPad U110 has been launched keeping the stylish people in mind. The design of the laptop is pretty neat to say the least. It is appealing to the eye and the laptop comes in various colors.

The laptop weighs around 1.05 kgs. The U110 is about 18.4mm thick and comes with a LED screen which is brighter than the screens you get these days.

Amar Babu, the MD of Lenovo India looked very confident on the launch of the laptop. "Customers end up compromising either looks for technology or technology for looks. This no-compromise ultra portable notebook from Lenovo offers both. We're confident the much-anticipated IdeaPad U110 ultra portable notebook will excite customers and give them a unique and rewarding computing experience." he said.

Other features of the laptop include -

- 120 GB HDD
- Up to 3 GB RAM
- Built-in web cam
- WLAN, Ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity*
- External DVD burner
- Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS

You can also go ahead and get an additional battery to extend your battery life of the laptop. The laptop comes with face recognition software for automatic login and harddrive protection from damage.

The price of this is very high to say the least, at around Rs. 98,000 this one could be missed.

Nokia N800 Series Internet Tablet

The Nokia N800 is latest addition from Nokia in the Internet Tablet market. The N800 comes with a VGA camera which can mainly be used as a Webcam. It has a 4.13 inch screen with stereo speakers.

The Nokia N800 comes with  Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth as well. You can't say that the N800 is too much better than the 770 in looks, infact the N800 is much wider than the N770. One thing that the N800 has which the N770 does not is the extra SD card slot. The N770 had a RS-MMC card slot so this is just a minor update.

We still don't know the difference in the processor and RAM specs but if there isn't too much difference in that I don't know why did they bother to bring in the update at all. The downside to both these internet tablets is the lack of GSM/CDMA compatibility. Why can't they just add the mobile feature after doing so much hard work!

Motorola MC35 Enterprise Digital Assistant

Motorola recently announced a PDA which is actually being advertised with a new lingo known as a EDA - Enterprise Digital Assistant. The handheld device is capable of delivering good quality voice and data applications. The device is one of the first to be labelled as an EDA, but for the layman its as good as a PDA.

The Motorola MC35 comes with GPS functionality, WiFi, Bluetooth V2.0 and EDGE. The phone can work with Tri-band GSM networks and runs on a Intel XScale PXA270 416MHz powered by the latest Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.

The Motorola MC35 is to be launched at a price close to $600 and is pretty expensive to start off with, but we expect the price to drop as competition increases.

Google talks to build Facebook Competitor

Google Inc has held talks with gaming companies as it looks to develop a new service to compete with social networking website Facebook, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The Internet giant has had talks with makers of online games for the service including Playdom Inc, Electronic Arts Inc's Playfish and Zynga Game Network Inc, the report said.

The report said is unclear when the new offering will be launched.

Google already owns and operates social networking site Orkut. The company could not be immediately reached for comment.

Walt Disney Co said earlier on Tuesday it is planning to acquire Playdom for $563.2 million, as the young but fast-growing market for Internet games on Facebook and other websites has exploded, increasing the links between social gaming developers and social networking.
